Congregations for Kids' 30th annual Good Start Back to School project is serving up to 1700 students from low-income families in the Bellevue School District this 2025-26 school year. Backpacks and school supplies from C4K provide a lifeline for these students whose lives have been impacted by poverty and unforeseen challenges in so many ways. They come not only from here but from many other areas for many reasons. Some are refugees and immigrants who have fled violence but now face fear and uncertainty here. Some are escaping domestic violence. Some are unaccompanied minors. Some are homeless. Some are facing situations such as medical or disasters such as fires, water damage, etc. The need is just as real today as it was when the first GSBTS project took place in 1996.
Congregations for Kids, a coalition of local congregations, helps students from low income families within the Bellevue, Washington School District have a Good Start Back to School. Partnering with the school district, Eastside businesses, and community organizations, we equip these students with backpacks and supplies needed for the school year.
