Our 27th annual Good Start Back To School project in August will again provide backpacks and customized kits of school supplies for about 2000 students from low-income families in the Bellevue (WA) School District.  They will receive them before school starts.

Mission Statement:

Congregations for Kids, a coalition of local congregations, helps students from low income families within the Bellevue, Washington School District have a Good Start Back to School. Partnering with the school district, Eastside businesses, and community organizations, we equip these students with backpacks and supplies needed for the school year.

Please consider supporting Congregations for Kids through the GiveBIG campaign May 3-4.  Early scheduled donations are already underway.  To donate, go to  Congregations For Kids Washington Gives (wagives.org) or https://www.wagives.org/organization/Congregations4kids.  Congregations for Kids’ annual Good Start Back to School project provides over 2000 students from low-income families in the Bellevue School District with backpacks and school supplies. Their backgrounds are varied:  some homeless, some from other countries, some escaping domestic violence.  All are experiencing poverty. These backpacks and school supplies give them a lifeline to normalcy.   Thank you!
